Aim: What is the vocabulary of the middle of Mark Twain's ghost story?

Read page two of the story.

1- As you read the text, underline the following words:

2- Take a dictionary and define the words. Include the part of speech and the first two definitions.

1- Explain how the second page of the story surprised you. Why did this part of
the story not meet your expectations? What do you think will happen in the final
part of the story?
2- How do the new vocabulary words in the story help make the story seem
spooky or eerie?
3- If you were the narrator, what would you do if you discovered such a strange
ghost in your room?
